One of Downtown Albany’s most well-known and historic bars is using comedy to bring back a sense of community.

The Lark Street Tavern just recently started hosting comedy shows and bringing in comedians from New York City.

There are already weekly open mic nights at Lark Street Tavern, but the professional shows are pulling in new customers who live in the neighborhood.

Rich Vos was there last week, and Carmen Lynch and Jim Florentine are on the upcoming calendar.

The back room has a club feel, separate from the bar where you walk in.

Local musician Brad Monkell is working with Lark Street Tavern owner, Chris Pratt, to create this new comedy scene.
