Man, 49, arrested for assault, weapon charges in Clifton Park

The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office says they arrested Aslam Earnest, 49, of Clifton Park on Saturday on varying charges.
Police responded to a disturbance call on Kashmiri Terrace in Clifton Park around 11:23 p.m.
Earnest is accused of intentionally causing physical injury to someone else by means of a deadly weapon or dangerous instrument, as well as possessing the instrument or weapon with the intent to use it unlawfully, said police.
The Sheriff’s Office says he is alleged to have repeatedly struck another person with a belt that had a metal buckle.
Officials add that Earnest is also accused of intentionally placing another person in fear of death, imminent serious physical injury, or physical injury by physical menace.
Earnest was charged with the following:
- Second-degree assault
- Third-degree menacing
- Fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon
He was arraigned in Clifton Park Town Court and released on his own recognizance pending further proceedings.
