Christopher Maxwell from the Bronx is facing animal cruelty charges.
He’s accused of dragging a 1-year-old pit bull inside a crate and setting the dog on fire.
Maxwell is also accused of leaving the dog inside the crate for several days without food or water.
Another person, Latisha Ellis, co-owned the pit bull. She is also facing charges.
Both entered pleas of not guilty, and are due back in court on April 24.
