Man arrested for allegedly stealing credit cards from a shopper at Walmart, used them to buy items

Frank R. Ingoldsby, 58, of Rensselaer was arrested by the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office following a larceny call at the Walmart in Halfmoon that happened on January 12.
Ingoldsby is accused of stealing a wallet containing credit cards from a shopper’s cart in the store, said the Sheriff’s Office.
Officials say he allegedly assumed that person’s identity to buy goods and cause a financial loss to them.
Ingoldsby was charged with third-degree identity theft and fourth-degree grand larceny, said police.
He was arraigned in Malta Town Court and released on his own recognizance pending further proceedings in Halfmoon Town Court.
