Maximum sentence given in deadly Albany hit-and-run

The man who admitted to hitting and killing an Albany woman last September has been sentenced to the maximum – eight to 24 years in prison.
Nsikak Okure from Altamont pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide in February in the death of Tanisha Brathwaite. He also admitted to leaving the scene after the deadly crash without reporting it.
Brathwaite was hit and killed by a vehicle last September at the corner of Clinton Avenue and North Swan Street in Albany.
