Man sentenced in deadly shooting outside Albany gentlemen’s club
A man found guilty in a deadly shooting from last May has been sentenced.
Ulias Kornegay received 25 years to life in prison.
Kornegay is the man who was caught on camera, shooting and killing K-Won Lillard last May.
The shooting happened outside Ciro’s Place on Broadway.
While Kornegay said the shooting was done in self-defense, the judge called that claim “ridiculous”. She cited the fact that Kornegay intervened in an argument between Lillard and another person, that didn’t involve him. She also noted that Kornegay kept shooting at Lillard while he crawled on the ground, with a gunshot wound to the chest.
The jury deliberated for less than an hour on Friday.
