Man charged in assault on Central Avenue in Albany
A 59-year-old Albany man who allegedly assaulted another man earlier this month on Central Avenue has been arrested.
Officers responded to a residence at Townsend Park Apartments on August 1 around 8:15 p.m. for reports of an assault.
When police arrived, a male victim told officers that while inside the residence, James Holmes, a person who is known to him, assaulted him by slashing him in the head and face.
The victim has non-life-threatening lacerations to his head, face and hand.
A search warrant was executed at Townsend Park Apartments on Friday, August 11, by detectives from the Albany Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Unit, where Holmes was found and arrested.
Holmes was charged with one count of assault 2nd and one count of criminal possession of a weapon 3rd.
He was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail.
