A man was sentenced in Albany for two violent crimes — slashing a woman with a knife and shooting another woman through the window of her home.
Raheem Himes was sentenced to 25 years in state prison for attempted murder and assault.
Himes shot a 60-year-old woman inside her home through the front window on Partridge Street in May 2022. She survived.
In court, that woman spoke saying she was shot in the upper abdomen and her recovery impacts every aspect of her life.
Himes was sentenced in Albany County Court.
He also sliced a woman’s face with a knife in August 2021.
Himes pleaded guilty to assault in the first degree for that crime.
