Man who fired gun outside Temple Israel appears in federal court
The man accused of firing a gun outside of Temple Israel in Albany last week appeared in federal court on Thursday afternoon.
The man accused of firing two gunshots outside Temple Israel in Albany appeared in federal court on Thursday.
Mufid Fawaz Alkhader faces a new charge, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
He’s accused of lying to buy the shotgun he allegedly used. Alkhader had a friend buy the gun for him, investigators said.
Alkahder faces up to 20 years in prison and a maximum fine of $250,000.
There were dozens of children inside Temple Israel in Albany last Thursday when the shots were fired.
It was hours before the first night of Hanukkah.
No one was injured.
