Man who allegedly fired handgun on Albany street arrested
A 22-year-old man has been charged in connection with an incident of shots fired that occurred early Sunday morning in Albany.
At around 1 a.m., officers responded to the area of Morton Avenue and Eagle Street for reports of shots fired.
Through their investigation, officers determined that the suspect, Zion Gaddy, was responsible for the shooting and had fired at least one round at a fleeing vehicle, police said.
Gaddy was arrested shortly after the incident.
A search warrant was conducted at a residence on the 100 block of Morton Avenue by the Albany Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Unit where a .380 handgun was also recovered.
Gaddy was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon, one count of Reckless Endangerment, and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon.
He was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court and sent to the Albany County Jail.
