Man admits to reckless endangerment for almost hitting child that was about to get off a school bus in Pittstown.

The undocumented migrant who nearly hit a child about to get off a school bus in Pittstown in January has been sentenced to 90 days in jail.

Angel Fernando Pandiguana Pachar pleaded guilty in Pittstown Town Court on Wednesday to reckless endangerment. He also had to pay a fine of $205.

NewsChannel 13 was first to obtain video of the incident, which happened on Jan. 30 on Route 7 at about 2:40 p.m.

Pachar was driving a van at a high rate of speed. The bus had stopped to let off a child, when Pachar passed it on the shoulder. The bus driver closed the door and prevented her from getting off moments before she would have been struck.

No one was injured. The van ended up hitting a truck going in the opposite direction and then left the road and crashed in the snow.

NewsChannel 13 had previously reported that Pachar is a citizen of Ecuador. He already had two encounters with Border Patrol on May 11 and May 12, 2021 in New Mexico. Both times he was removed from the country and sent to Mexico.
