Residents packed the Pine Hills Library on Thursday to share their thoughts about how the closure of the College of Saint Rose will affect the neighborhood.

The college has been a staple of the neighborhood for more than a century, but it is shutting down at the end of the spring semester.

The Albany Common Council organized the meeting and gave each person 3 minutes to speak.

The common sentiment was disappointment.

A representative from the college sent a statement saying that they understand that this is a challenging time for the community, and they are going to take everyone’s concerns into consideration.
