Middleburgh murder suspect awaits jury’s verdict

The man accused of killing another man in Schoharie County is awaiting his fate before the jury.
The case of a Middleburgh man charged with murder is now in the hands of a Schoharie County jury.
Michael Todtschinder, 24, is accused of killing Jeffrey Mickle back in 2024. Mickle had last been seen on Nov. 25. Deputies discovered Mickle’s body with several apparent gunshot wounds in the town of Broome.
Todtschinder has been charged with second-degree murder and tampering with physical evidence. The prosecution rested its case on Tuesday and Todtschinder took the stand in the afternoon.
The jury was still deliberating as of 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
