The 60 students among the 150 people forced from the Super 8 Motel in Rotterdam last week won’t have to switch schools for the last month of the school year.
The hotel on Carman Road shut down late last week due to concerns with the fire alarm system.
NewsChannel 13 has learned most of those families are now staying at a hotel in Latham, near the Albany Airport.
Starting Tuesday morning, Mohonasen school buses will pick up all of those students and take them back and forth to school in Rotterdam. That’s a 30-minute drive each way.
The superintendent told NewsChannel 13 he is determined to do what he can to keep the students in the school setting that is now familiar to them for the rest of this school year.
