A Milton man was sentenced on Thursday gets 7 years in prison for severely injuring his 3-month-old son.

Jacob Krall, 21, was convicted in October of second-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child after a two-week trial.

Krall injured the child at his home on March 19, 2023, according to police. Prosecutors said that Krall caused a severe head injury for while he was caring for his son, who he shared joint custody with the child’s mother.

The hospital found a subdural hematoma and there was internal bleeding.

Krall had denied hitting the child and his attorney said there was no direct proof he caused the injuries. He said his client loved his son and performed CPR on him when he was not breathing.
