More severe storms sweep through Capital Region
Another round of severe thunderstorms slammed into the Capital Region on Friday.
The storms brought torrents of rain, vivid lightning and more power outages.
They came as restoration efforts continued from Thursday’s storms.
Several high school football games were also postponed.
As of Friday evening, National Grid was reporting nearly 5,000 customers without power in Columbia County, with around 3,500 out in Rensselaer County.
They were hoping for power to be restored later in the evening.
