Most residents of Malta apartment can move back in after repairs made to pipe hit by bullet

Most of the residents in the Ellsworth Commons Apartments that were displaced by the officer-involved shooting have returned to their homes, a Malta town official confirmed.
Residents who live in Building 2 were forced to evacuate. Police shot and killed Brandon Moore after investigators said he pointed a BB gun at them.
Code Enforcement Officer Erika Mitchell said one of the water pipes that feeds the sprinkler system was struck by a stray bullet. That was fixed on Friday. She believes the fire alarm system is also back up and running.
The restoration company Quick Response has been working on the water damage.
The Attorney General’s Office on Monday confirmed that it is opening an investigation into the shooting, which is standard protocol for deaths at the hands of law enforcement officers.
