A fire near an autobody shop in Watervliet is under investigation.   

Crews responded to the fire just after 1 a.m.. Thursday near Dawson’s Body Shop on Broadway, Schuyler Heights Fire Chief Ken Keefer Sr. said.

Officials also told NewsChannel 13 that the flames were put out quickly and the scene was cleared by 2:45 a.m.

The building was not damaged by the flames, but some of the cars parked near it were.

An investigation into what caused the fire is ongoing at this time.
