New bill introduces 72 hour wait to purchase guns
Anyone who wants to buy a gun in Vermont will now have to wait 72 hours.

The bill was passed by the Vermont legislature on Friday.
It aims to reduce suicides and community violence.
In addition to the 72 hour wait period, the legislation will create a crime of negligent firearm storage, and it expands the state’s extreme risk protection orders.
