New York State Police arrest Cambridge man for possession of ghost guns
New York State Police arrested 22-year-old Cian S. Nolan of Cambridge on July 31 for possessing ghost guns.
State Police of Greenwich responded to reports of a vehicle off the roadway on State Route 372 in Jackson, NY on July 18, which the driver, Nolan, was injured in the vehicle crash and taken to Saratoga Hospital.
After investigation, police discovered an illegally-possessed loaded handgun and illegal high-capacity magazine within the vehicle.
Authorities say the seized handgun was un-serialized.
On July 31, State Troopers stopped Nolan on State Route 372 in Easton, NY for a vehicle and traffic law violation. Police discovered an additional illegal loaded handgun during the stop. It was at this traffic stop that Nolan was charged for the ghost guns found on July 18.
Police say Nolan was charged with two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, one count of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and other vehicle and traffic law violations.
Nolan was taken to State Police of Greenwich for processing, then to Washington County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
State Police say the investigation into the source of the weapons is ongoing.
