Coyote is still on the loose in Clifton Park, so the Vischer Ferry Nature Preserve is still closed.
There have been no sightings of a coyote that attacked an 82-year-old man in Clifton Park last Wednesday, according to the town’s animal control officer.
The attack happened near the Vischer Ferry Nature Preserve as Tom Fitzpatrick was walking his dog. The coyote started to attack his 2-year-old dog Maggie. Fitzpatrick threw the dog on a snowbank and wrestled with the coyote. He had cuts to his legs and is receiving shots for rabies.
Animal Control Officer Terri Cook said the animal has not been spotted. If an animal has active rabies, it will die within 10 days, according to Cook.
The preserve will remain closed.
