North Adams man gets up to 7 years in prison for armed robbery
Joshua E. Piantoni, 42, drove a four-wheeler to the Cumberland Farms on Route 2 in Williamstown on Sept. 27, 203. Piantoni then pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded money, according to the Berkshire County District Attorney's Office.
The clerk handed him $259 and Piantoni left to head toward his home in North Adams.
Police caught Piantoni when he was crossing Ashton Avenue. Officers found the stolen money and a BB gun that appeared to be a real gun, prosecutors said.
Piantoni pleaded guilty last month to five charges including armed robbery and assault with a dangerous weapon.
