State Police responded to vehicle found in Mohawk River in Lock 12 area, driver rescued and taken to hospital

NewsChannel 13 has learned that authorities in Montgomery County responded to reports of a vehicle in the Mohawk River in Fonda.
New York State Police say they responded to the scene around 10:10 a.m. to the area of Lock 12 in Mohawk for reports of a vehicle in the water.
Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office shared with us that a sheriff’s airboat, along with the Tri-County Water Team, made a water rescue.
State Police say the driver was recovered from the water and was conscious at the time of the rescue.
They were flown to Albany Medical Center Hospital via Life Net, said the Sheriff’s Office.
State Police say the investigation is ongoing.
