One man dead, one hurt in Albany stabbing

One man is dead and another injured in a stabbing Monday morning in Albany. Police responded to the area of Washington Avenue and Quail Street around 3:40 a.m. after receiving a report of a person who was stabbed. The found a 25-year-old man who had been stabbed in the back. He was treated on scene and transported to Albany Medical Center, where he is listed in stable condition.

Police were called to the area of Washington Avenue and Quail Street around 3:40 a.m. for a report of a stabbing.

They found a 25-year-old man stabbed in the back. He was treated on scene and taken to Albany Medical Center, where he is listed in stable condition.

Police learned that there was another victim on the 400 block of Washington Avenue who was unconscious and unresponsive. The 24-year-old man was taken to Albany Medical Center with multiple stab wounds, and pronounced dead. His identity is being withheld until family is notified.

Police think the stabbings stemmed from a fight between two groups of people, they said.
