One of two new Lake George winter attractions opens on Friday
One of the two new winter-time attractions in Lake George is nearly ready to open.
Winter Realms, the replacement to the popular Ice Castles attraction, opens Friday afternoon, Nov. 24, at Charles R. Wood Park. It has ice skating, an ice sculpture garden, and a polar pub.
This attraction is right next to Winter’s Dream, which is being built on the property of the Fort William Henry Museum. That attraction is an immersive multi-media experience, with synchronized light shows, winter-themed sound and video displays.
The two new neighboring attractions will draw tens of thousands of visitors to Lake George each winter, community leaders said.
“To top it off, they’re in Lake George, just steps away from each other, the crown jewel of the Adirondacks, a place of timeless beauty, picturesque in every season and now the backdrop to a winter spectacle like never before,” said Mayor Ray Perry.
Friday’s opening of Winter Realms coincides with Lake George’s big “Light Up the Village” holiday celebration on Friday and Saturday, which will feature a parade and fireworks.
Winter’s Dream is designed by a company that produces exhibits for Disney. It opens Friday Dec. 8.
