Opening statements are set to begin Monday in the murder trial for Nelson Patino.

He’s accused of stabbing and killing his wife and 5-year-old son, and stabbing and injuring his 2-year-old son in their Duanesburg home in December 2021.

Patino’s attorney plans to argue that the stabbings were a case of psychosis, brought on by COVID-19.
