Two people hit by car in Pittsfield
Two people were hit by a car in Pittsfield early Monday morning.
It happened at around 2:45 a.m. near 55 West Housatonic St.
A 23-year-old driver collided with Shanon Steffey, 34, and Matthew Squires, 32, police said.
Both were taken to Berkshire Medical Center. The woman was later transferred to Bay State Medical Center in critical condition.
The crash remains under investigation, but police told NewsChannel 13 they don’t think drugs or alcohol were involved.
The road was closed for a time, but has since reopened.
