A deadly crash in Canaan, Columbia County is under investigation.

A car lost control on Route 295 Thursday night due to slippery conditions, according to New York State Police.

The car went off the road, overturned, and hit a utility pole.

A passenger was thrown from the car, investigators said.

That person was brought to Berkshire Medical Center, where they later died, according to investigators.
