Students and staff were off Wednesday, and will also be off on Thursday.
A temporary boiler on the school’s front lawn couldn’t be turned on because it hasn’t been inspected yet by the state.
If the temporary boiler is cleared, the school district plans to use it until the end of this year. That’s when the school’s new permanent heating system should be up and ready to go.
The expectation is that a state inspector will be there on Thursday. If everything works as it should, heat will return to the classrooms and corridors, and school will resume Friday.
