Police investigating shooting on Madison Avenue in Albany

Albany Police are investigating a shooting that happened on Sunday in the area of Madison Avenue and Ontario Street, leaving two injured.

The incident happened around 3:20 a.m. near the 900 block of Madison Avenue.

Upon officer arrival, they located evidence consistent with gunfire.

As Albany Police arrived at the scene, they were told by Albany Medical Center that a 31-year-old male and a 26-year-old male had entered the emergency room with gunshot wounds.

The 31-year-old male sustained gunshot wounds to his hand and arm and is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries, said police.

Authorities say additionally, the 26-year-old male sustained a gunshot wound to his leg, and is also being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police believe that the victims were struck with gunfire outside on the 900 block of Madison Avenue.
