Police: Pittsfield man, 64, charged with carjacking

A 64-year-old Pittsfield man is accused of attempting to carjack a person in a Target parking lot.
The Lanesbourgh Police Department responded to the store on Thursday, Jan. 16 around 1:30 p.m. The victim told police that the man, identified as Earl N. Krenner, punched and kicked him and attempted to steal his vehicle.

The Lanesbourgh Police Department responded to the store on Thursday, Jan. 16 around 1:30 p.m. The victim told police that the man, identified as Earl N. Krenner, punched and kicked him and attempted to steal his vehicle.
The victim was able to prevent Krenner from getting away, police said. Officers arrived and Krenner allegedly kicked officers while being taken into custody.
He was charged with carjacking, assault and battery and assault and battery on a police officer.
The suspect was taken to the Berkshire County House of Corrections pending arraignment.
