Police seek suspect accused of stealing vehicle from Albany

The Albany County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in identifying a man involved in an alleged vehicle theft in Albany.

Police received a report on Monday that a stolen vehicle was traveling a high rate of speed in the town of Knox. Deputies spotted the vehicle and began a chase, which was canceled for safety reasons, investigators said.

They found the vehicle and the driver ran into the woods. A search by troopers, deputies and K-9s from both agencies and helicopters did not find the suspect.

The vehicle has an on-board camera system, which captured video of the suspect. Anyone who recognizes the man is asked to contact the Albany County Sheriff’s Office at 518-765-2352.
