Menands is reminding residents of the dangers and consequences of using fireworks.

Police have received complaints from local families & residents regarding late-night fireworks in their neighborhood, they said.

They advise leaving the fireworks display to professionals. That way, it reduces the risk of injuries and harm from improper use.

Police want to remind the public all types of consumer fireworks, including firecrackers, bottle rockets, and spinners are illegal across New York state.
