A prescribed burn at the Pine Bush in Guilderland is helping to reduce the risk of uncontrolled wildfires.

There were 37 acres burned in the area of Willow Street and Tera Court in Guilderland last week, according to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.

The fires also help reduce the risk of invasive species.
