Rensselaer County man accused of scamming people out of over $20K

A Nassau man is accused of scamming people out of more than $20K by taking money for items and not delivering them.

Patrick M. Walsh, 63, is accused of collecting more than $20,000 from several victims with the promise that he would provide a variety of items ranging from recreational vehicles to concert tickets. This activity occurred from August 2024 until February while in Schodack, State Police said.

Walsh was arrested at his home on May 5 and charged with four counts of grand larceny and one count of scheme to defraud. He was sent without bail to Rensselaer County Jail.

Anyone who believes they may be a victim or have additional information is asked to call State Police at 518-457-6811 or email crimetip@troopers.ny.gov.
