Nearly two dozen skiers including six children are safe thanks to the Vermont state police and Killington search and rescue teams.
Nearly two dozen skiers, including six children, are safe thanks to the Vermont state police and Killington search and rescue teams.
Twelve team members spent Saturday afternoon hiking, snowshoeing and skiing over five miles in frigid temperatures to find 23 lost skiers and snowboarders.
They found them around 7:30 p.m. and walked them safely out of the woods.
All the rescued skiers were able to warm up in the Killington Fire Department’s heavy rescue truck and team members’ vehicles.
