The 2-year-old German Shepherd-Great Pyrenees mix is recovering after surgery for the gunshot wound to his hind leg.
The injured dog somehow walked 600 yards home in order to get help.
Four animal rescue organizations in the Greater Capital Region are sponsoring the reward.
State police are investigating.
