Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara announced a new bill to address vehicle collisions with bridges throughout the state.
The bill is partially because of the large number of accidents with Schenectady County bridges, including the bridge on Glenridge Road in Glenville.
That bridge has been hit nearly 100 times since it was built, with 22 collisions in 2021 and 12 collisions last year.
The new law will require the Department of Transportation commissioner to report information about bridge collisions. This includes the locations, repairs and prevention efforts.
