Saratoga Race Course to honor NY Guard members in chopper crash

Three National Guard soldiers involved in a deadly helicopter crash earlier this year will be honored at Saratoga Race Course next week.

Casey Frankoski, John Grassia II and Jacob Pratt will be honored on Thursday, Aug. 22 during Military Appreciation Day.

A special ceremony with the families of the fallen soldiers will take place in the winner’s circle after the fifth race.

Frankoski, Grassia and a fourth crew member from Texas died when their helicopter crashed in March near the U.S.-Mexico border.

Pratt, from Rensselaer, was the sole survivor. He continues to recover.
