A Saratoga Springs man is recovering from a brutal and unprovoked attack on a city street this past weekend.
That assault took place – according to victim Dan Safford – someplace near the bar district on Caroline Street. However, he can’t remember the exact location, due to his injuries.
A bystander found Safford lying in the street just after 2 a.m. Friday into Saturday morning, fading in and out of consciousness.
After a brief hospital stay, Safford is back at home, recuperating.
Because of a cartilage fracture in his throat, he is under doctor’s orders not to speak right now.
He also suffered a concussion. He also has cuts and contusions on his face that have been stitched up.
Meantime, Safford’s fiancé, Ashley Cohen is by his side.
She’s still in shock ever since receiving that phone call from Safford in the middle of night, she said.
Safford believes there are four or five adult men who ambushed him as he walked home from Caroline Street, he said.
Police confirm they are investigating.
There is a GoFundMe page set up to help defray medical expenses. It was started by his boss Jared Moussean, the owner of Uplift, a workout gym in Latham.
