Schenectady County has extended its emergency order to prohibit local hotels and motels to house migrants without a license provided by the county.
County Manager Rory Fluman issued the declaration on Friday.
Fluman said in the resolution that the county’s Department of Social Services already faces a shortage of motel rooms to house the roughly 150 to 250 people that are receiving services.
The county implemented the rule in July after a group of migrants were housed in the Super 8 hotel in Rotterdam.
