Schenectady County man convicted of double murder
A Schenectady County man was found guilty Friday for fatally shooting his mother and her partner in November 2022.
A jury convicted Nicholas Fiebka on charges of first-degree murder in the deaths of Alesia Wadsworth, 60, and William Horwedel, 61, at their 1155 Reynolds Home in Princetown.
A jury convicted Nicholas Fiebka on charges of first-degree murder in the deaths of Alesia Wadsworth, 60, and William Horwedel, 61, at their 1155 Reynolds Home in Princetown.
The jury was not persuaded by Fiebka’s attorney’s argument that his client be found not guilty by reason of mental defect. Attorney Mark Sacco had said that his client had been suffering with mental illness for many years and had been spiraling out of control.
Fiebka also was found guilty of four counts of criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a weapon with rapid fire modification and aggravated contempt.
