The City of Schenectady is getting ready to host the first-ever summer baseball blast.

It is an event that combines baseball, food, and music, and held in conjunction with the Firecracker Sports Baseball Tournament taking place this weekend in Central Park.

There will be food trucks in the park on Saturday from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m., and a free concert on the Music Haven Stage at 6:30 p.m.

The summer Baseball Blast will also celebrate the upgrades and new amenities at the park, from disc golf, new lights on the a diamond, a new pool and splash pad, a rose garden and the greenhouse.
