Schenectady man charged in broad daylight stabbing of teen in Albany

A Schenectady man has been arrested in the afternoon stabbing of a 16-year-old boy.
Jose R. Martinez, 22, allegedly stabbed the teen in the area of Central Avenue and Quail Street in Albany. Police responded to a home on Kent Street at around 2:50 p.m. Tuesday. They found the victim with a stab wound to the back, they said.
The victim was treated on scene and taken to Albany Medical Center.
Martinez was identified as the suspect. Police found him in the area of Eagle Street and Elm Street and he was arrested.
Martinez was charged with attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon. He was sent to Albany County Jail.
