A mother from Schenectady accused of dropping her baby down a drainage pipe on the General Electric campus was in court for a status hearing on Wednesday morning.

Persia Nelson is facing murder and manslaughter charges for the death of baby Halo Branton earlier this year.

Baby Halo was taken to Ellis Hospital, where she died from exposure and hypothermia.

The judge says he expects a trial in early 2025.
