A search effort for a Canadian Hiker missing on Allen Mountain is now likely a recovery mission, investigators said.

Leo DuFour has been missing since December 1.

Dozens of state forest rangers have been leading the charge, but so far, all they’ve found is DuFour’s car at the trailhead, covered in snow.

Rangers have found a set of tracks leading from the vehicle, but recent snowfall hasn’t helped efforts.

The operation will upgrade to an active search if any leads are discovered, investigators said.
