Sheriff: Halfmoon sex offender did not report new address

A sex offender from Halfmoon is accused of not informing authorities of his address change.

Vincent H. Farnsworth, 59, had moved and did not provide notification within 10 days as required by law, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.

Farnsworth was charged with failure to report an address change. The charge was upgraded to a felony because he has a previous conviction for the same thing.

He was arraigned in Halfmoon Town Court and released on his own recognizance.

Farnsworth is classified as a Level 2 offender, which is considered moderate risk to reoffend, according to the sex offender database. He was convicted in 1995 of attempted sexual abuse involving a 7-year-old victim.
