Schenectady Police say the incident is under investigation.

Schenectady Police are investigating an officer-involved shots fired incident.

Police said a teen girl is recovering following incident with police.

Schenectady Police Department responded to 1007 Strong Street at around 7:21 p.m. for reports of an altercation.

When officers arrived on scene they saw the teen with a large knife.

During the incident, the teen began to approach officers while still holding the knife.

An officer shot their weapon, the teen was not hit.

The teen was taken to the hospital with what are believed to be self-inflicted, non-life-threatening injuries to her arm.

Police said the teen is a juvenile.

The incident is under investigation by detectives the Schenectady Police Office of Professional Standards
