Employees of the Spectrum 8 Theatre in Albany said they were blindsided by the news of the establishment’s closing.
The movie theatre is shutting its doors on Feb. 22 after decades in the community.
It first opened in 1983 and was taken over by Landmark in 2015. The employees found out just before the public that it would be closing.
The city is hopeful a new operator will come forward. However, everything remains up in the air for now.
Meanwhile, employees are forced to look for new jobs, including one who was hired just two weeks ago.
