St. Peter’s Albany Memorial Campus to reopen Monday morning following flooding
The St. Peter’s Albany Memorial Campus is scheduled to reopen to patients on Monday starting at 7 a.m., including their Emergency Department.
This is following a flood caused by a faulty pipe in the building on Friday afternoon.
They say the Albany Memorial Campus does not have inpatient beds, but the campus is home to a number of specialty and outpatient services.
The flood happened just after 1 p.m. on Friday, when a faulty cap on a water pipe dislodged. Water covered a significant portion of the building’s first floor, basement, and subfloor. In turn, patients and employees were safely evacuated out of caution, while incoming patients to the Emergency Department were taken to other nearby facilities. No one was injured.
Their partners say the flood water impacted several patient care areas, as well as their cafeteria and main elevators. Cleanup and remediation in these areas will continue through approximately the next two weeks.
Kim Baker, senior vice president of hospital operations for St. Peter’s Health Partners released a statement on Sunday afternoon:
““I would like to extend my sincerest thanks to everyone involved – especially our dedicated facilities team and restoration crews – who have been working around the clock to safely restore services to the Albany Memorial Campus. I would also like express my gratitude to our patients and colleagues for their understanding and flexibility which have aided us in responding swiftly to this incident.”
They say impacted patients whose services are not online yet have been notified, and that their appointments have either been moved to another St. Peter’s location or rescheduled for a future date.
